Playing in the dark.
Each week, those of us who are working at the Shop try to make a small intervention in the space, which could be adding some new materials or rearranging the space slightly. This week we decided to make part of the space dark by adding a small desk lamp and turning off the main lights.
It's interesting to see what things the kids get excited by and what things they completely ignore! Most of the children did ignore the dark space, however this meant that for one child it became her own little den where she could make whatever she wanted without being disturbed.
Outside we also had many different mutations of table tennis, a slightly less scary version of the hammer throw and plenty of running, chasing and hiding too!
