Christmas Leftovers

Christmas may have been ages ago, but I found these and I just had to post them!

Merry February everyone!

The Pile Up

The child in charge. How much should we go along with what they demand of us? What does that give them? Does it do us any good? Whilst I wasn't the subject of this child's play, I did get to watch it unfold and see how the staff responded. In this case mainly with quite a bit of giggling.

It all started with a washing line...

...which showed off the sheer amount of fabric and clothes that we had. So what do we do with it all? Dress up one of the Play Local team of course!

It's getting pretty good now...

Then what happens when you've done all you can do? Start on another member of staff of course... This one gets a foot rest.

And a bucket head!

The Ramp

This particular play project took place over three separate sessions. With not a hammer or drill in sight, these children created their own ramp by carefully testing out materials, working out how best to balance and support the different elements in order to create something really fun!

From this simple starting point...

More pieces get added...

When that wasn't exciting enough, they decide to see how to extend it...

Other children helped test out the new additions...

Then the creators push it to it's limits...

And adjust accordingly...

The next day, with all the working out done, they quickly set up the ramp again...

The other children decide to give it a go...

Carefully sussing it out...

Then the following day, with some slight adjustments, the building work starts again...
